3 years later

Hey there stranger.

How've you been?

I missed you.

You're gorgeous.

You're a tease. Let's make plans to run away to South America and live in a beachside shack and read Neruda at sunset. Quarantine ourselves from the world.

Quarantine brought us together, remember?

You showed me so many things in that time, music, poetry, fed my desire to travel. Why didn't you take me with you?

I was in a weird place.

That's ok, I like weird places.

love is?

You know those emails that go round occassionally where they ask kids what love means? I'm feeling a little sappy today, so thought I'd share some of my favourites.

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.

Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.

You really shouldn't say "I LOVE YOU" unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.

Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.

Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.

Awwwww.

Hope there's lots of love at your place this Christmas.

cringe

I never wear skirts to work, because that pasty-faced wank stain jingles when he walks. And he said to me this morning 'You could have held the lift for me.' And I just smirked 'Yeah, could've.' And he still says good morning with a smile. And I still glare daggers at his face. And he still smiles. Feeb.

drama queen

I've been a bit like that lately. A lot has happened since my birthday 2 weeks ago, and I've been carrying on like I'm the first person to ever experience this crap. Well, it's my party and I'll chuck a tanty if I want to. I have a bad feeling 28 is not a good place to be.

One of my bestest mates is moving to Canada TOMORROW for an amazing job opportunity. Aaannnddd he just announced he's engaged too.

The Rainman is back finally, and I haven't seen him all week. Fucker thinks he's being funny. Well I'm gonna go see his mummy - she'll tell me where he's hiding.

In the meantime, I'm off to the office xmas party. I'm going to try not to drink myself into a stupor that will get me sacked, but I'm not making any promises.

warning

I'm still a bit too cranky to post much right now, but I will offer this warning. SOOB goers, or anyone visiting Brisbane, who may wander into the CBD... Keep a very strong hold on your stuff. Never let it out of your sight - even for a second.

I had my bag stolen from right at my feet without realising it, in the middle of the food court at the Queen Street mall. I feel pretty stupid retrospectively, as I ALWAYS keep my stuff where I can see it. Well, whoever it was saw their chance and took it, along with my brand new mobile phone, mp3 player and digital camera, with all my SOOB photos on it.

Apparently, there had been a few bag snatchings that afternoon - you get to hear a lot when in a back office waiting in phone queues while you cancel your credit cards. And teenagers can be smug little fuckers, even after they've been busted shoplifting.

Well, that's it for now - more when I've cooled off...

Off to Brissie for SOOB tomorrow night.
See ya next week.

Stay out of trouble.
